I went to the Alpaca Festival at the state fairgrounds in Syracuse on Saturday. Alpacas are incredibly cute. I watched a few of the competitions. The judges explained how they determined the placement of the winners. Microns of thickness of the coat, how close to type the alpaca was, etc. It was all a little beyond me. I also did some shopping. Very nice yarn. I ended up buying some balls of fingering weight alpaca for two pairs of socks. The natural color is already starting to be knit up.
I've also been working on a Brea Bag from Berroco.com http://www.berroco.com/exclusives/brea/brea.html with some wool I bought at the guild's first swap and sale at the September meeting.
