Ruffles

Two designs from the TNNA Spring Summer 2011 Fashion Show featured ruffles, but yet both were sophisticated.

'

The first was a dress from Louet designed by Trudy Van Stralen. The dress pattern is called Erica. As of yet, I cannot find it on Louet’s website. The yarn used was Euroflax. A small ruffle was at the lower hem. A three tiered ruffle was knit at the sleeves. The dress itself is beautiful, but what really works is that the ruffles highlight the drape of the linen based yarn.

The second design with ruffles is the Swing Crop Jacket by Andrea Babb. This design will be featured in the Spring 2011 issue of Interweave Knits. Watch the video to see how this garment moves. It’s really a beautiful spring jacket in Universal Yarns Fibra Natura Flax. It’s 100% linen so my guess is someone tried to steam the garment before it was photographed and it looks a little flat in the photos.
